Mineral Earns BenefitsPRO LUMINARIES Award
HR and compliance leader recognized by insurance publication for excellence in benefits education and communication
Portland, OR – September 15, 2023 – Mineral, the HR and compliance leader for more than 1 million small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), today proudly announces it has been selected for a BenefitsPRO 2023 LUMINARIES Award in the Education and Communication category. The award, selected by a panel of industry experts and presented annually by BenefitsPRO magazine, celebrates the top benefits professionals and organizations that are transforming the employee benefits business.
As a trusted resource for SMBs in managing HR and benefits compliance, Mineral recognizes the importance of providing top-tier benefits compliance resources. The robust content library on the Mineral Platform features over 3,000 educational resources, including up-to-date information on laws governing employee benefits, guides, sample policies, forms, videos, and checklists. In the last five years, Mineral clients have consulted the content library 7.2 million times, and “benefits” was the No. 1 topic Mineral clients needed help managing last year. Mineral also offers one-on-one support with an expanding roster of Benefits Compliance Advisors.
“We’re thrilled to accept this award from BenefitsPRO,” said Mineral CEO Nathan Christensen. “Elevating our educational resources on benefits has been a top priority, and our insurance partners and clients have proven how much they value reliable guidance on benefits compliance. We’re committed to not only delivering the industry’s best tools and guidance, but constantly expanding our benefits education offerings to remain best-in-class.”
Mineral’s award comes on the heels of hiring esteemed benefits industry leader Angela Surra as the company’s Principal Benefits Expert. With more than 20 years of real-world benefits experience, Surra has bolstered Mineral’s educational resources on benefits compliance by expanding the advisor knowledge base. Since joining Mineral in the last year, Surra has authored 90 new benefits pieces and contributed to nearly 300 benefits resources for the Mineral Platform, which the company’s clients and insurance partners rely on regularly to answer complex benefits compliance questions.
“It is extremely validating to witness our team earn this award from such a distinguished leader in the benefits community.” said Surra. “Managing the constantly evolving benefits compliance landscape can be a real challenge for SMBs, and even the most veteran brokers need quality resources to help support their clients’ needs. I am so proud of our efforts to expand our resources and thankful for our Benefits Compliance Advisors who deliver exceptional guidance to our clients and partners every day.”
In addition to her role expanding Mineral’s benefits resources, Surra has continued to demonstrate her commitment to the broker community by providing education to employers and brokers as a national speaker. She teaches courses to insurance agents as a faculty member of The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research, and has published several informational articles for BenefitsPRO.com.
“This year’s honorees exemplify how leading benefits professionals are moving their industries toward a brighter future and producing meaningful results in the areas that matter most to employers, employees and the future of benefits and health care,” said“BenefitsPRO Editor in Chief Paul Wilson. “Our team is excited to recognize these industry thought leaders and innovators.”
The full list of 2023 BenefitsPRO LUMINARIES award winners has been published today in the October issue of BenefitsPRO magazine.
