Businesses face continuing challenges when it comes to managing their HR and compliance programs. Vaccination policies, interwoven leave laws, labor shortages, and return-to-office plans are employers’ most common concerns this month. Given the evolving complexity of both the regulatory environment and the pandemic, it’s unlikely to get easier any time soon.

This is why we built the new Mineral Platform: to prepare and equip employers to handle complex, unexpected HR and compliance issues with confidence and simplicity.

In a previous post, we shared details with you about Mineral Intelligence, the industry’s first-of-its-kind, real-time, proactive HR and compliance engine that powers our new platform. Today we want to tell you more about what you can accomplish on the Mineral Platform.

The Mineral Platform is your one-stop HR and compliance solution powered by data, technology, and expertise. It gives you anytime access to tools, resources, and information—everything you need to keep your organization on track. Best of all, we designed it for you. Whether you’re a small business owner, an office manager, or an HR generalist, you’ll find the platform simple and accessible.

There’s so much you can do with the Mineral Platform, whether it’s the basics like creating job descriptions and benefits documents or staying on top of compliance deadlines. Today we’re going to illustrate how powerful our compliance library and resources are.

Lupita is the owner of a small tech firm that’s recently returned employees to the office. At first, most of her employees were excited to be working together in person again—by and large they’d wanted to work onsite and not at home. That was all well and good, but Lupita also noticed that her employees had brought their remote work habits into the office. In particular, a good many of them were either staring at their phones a lot or using them to listen to music or podcasts—sometimes without headphones.

Requests from her to minimize phone use went mostly unheeded—old habits die hard. Lupita wondered whether she could just ban phone use outright. She was pretty sure there wouldn’t be a compliance issue, but she couldn’t say so with one hundred percent certainty. She was also concerned about a potential hit to employee morale.

So, Lupita signed on to the Mineral platformed and searched “Can I prohibit personal phone use?” Scanning the results, Lupita immediately saw just what she needed: a Q&A answering that very question, providing not only the compliance angle, but other HR considerations as well. Here’s that Q&A, if you’re curious!

Kai had a different issue when he logged on to the Mineral Platform. The office manager at a dentist office in Frisco, Texas, he needed information quickly about the state’s new law prohibiting sexual harassment in workplaces of all sizes. A quick search showed him a Law Alert explaining the details of the law and what actions he needed to take. But there was more! In less than half an hour, he’d watched a short video that defined unlawful harassment, read a handful of Q&As about responding to harassment complaints, perused a guide on identifying and preventing workplace harassment, and downloaded a form that would come in handy if he needed to conduct an investigation. He breathed easy. He hoped sexual harassment would never be an issue at their six-person office, but he knew what he needed to do to prevent harassment, and he felt prepared to act on an allegation if one was ever made.

Without the Mineral Platform, Lupita and Kai would have spent a lot of time researching, possibly not knowing everything they needed to search for. The sources they found may have given them inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date information. They would likely have looked for trusted sources—our research shows that more and more businesses are turning to them for reliable information—but these would likely have included a lot of hard-to-understand legalese, and they may not have included easy-to-follow action items.

With the Mineral Platform, you can accomplish the two goals behind why more businesses are investing in HR tech: easing your administrative burden and complying with state and federal laws. Check out our product page for more information.
